Dr.
Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar will conduct M.Phil and Ph.D. Entrance
Tests in the last week of May, 2013 for admission to M.Phil and Ph.D. level
programme for the academic session 2013-14. Admissions will be given according
to merit in the Entrance Test and interview, subject to verification of
eligibility in the particular course for which the candidate has applied. The
M.Phil./Ph.D. Programme in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standard and
Proceedure for Awards of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulation 2009.

Eligibility
: Candidates who have secured above 55% marks (without rounding off) /
6.0 CGPA in (0-9) ten point scale, for General and OBC (NCL), in Master’s
Degree or equivalent examination from Universities / Institutes recognized by
UGC are eligible to appear in the Entrance Test. Schedules Caste (SC)/
Scheduled Tribes (ST) /Physically Challenged category students who have secured
50% marks (without rounding off)/ 5.0 CGPA in (0-9) ten point grade scale in
the Master’s degree or equivalent are eligible to appear in the test.
2.Name of the Programme : Ph.D. Programme
Ph.D.
programme is conducted by various departments of different schools. Admission
is subject to availability of seats with faculty members. The number of seats
may vary from year to year. Allotment of supervisors, Course Work, Ph.D. Thesis
evaluation, etc. would be done as per the Ph.D. program of Dr. Hari Singh Gour
University, Sagar. The M.Phil./Ph.D. Programme in accordance with the UGC
(Minimum Standard and Proceedure for Awards of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulation
2009.
Age
Limit: Upper age limit is 28 years as on 01/07/2013
Duration
of the Programme: A research scholar registered to the programme will have to
pass Two Semesters course work followed by two years research work.
Minimum
Qualification: Candidates who have secured at above 55% marks (without
rounding off) / 6.0 CGPA in ten point scale (0-9) for General and OBC (NCL) in
Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from Universities / Institutes
recognized by UGC are eligible to appear in the Entrance Test. Schedules Caste
(SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) / Physically Challenged (PC) category students who
have secured 50% marks (without rounding off) / 5.0 CGPA in ten point scale (0-
9) in the Master’s degree or equivalent are eligible to appear in the test.
Admission
to Ph.D. course : The admission to Ph.D. Course would be given by the
following methods;

Direct admission through interview
(b)
Admission through Entrance Test followed by interview
Entrance Test Fee :
General category : Rs. 900 /-
OBC / NCL category : Rs. 450 /-
SC / ST / PH / VH : Rs. 225 /-
Admit Card : The candidate has to download his ADMIT CARD On-line. Admit Card shall not be sent by post.
How to Apply :
i) Application for M.Phil./Ph.D. Entrance Test –2013 can be submitted On-line on dhsgsu.ac.in Webaite.
ii) The candidate should print/download the application form for M.Phil./Ph.D. 2013 and send the hard copy to the Chairman

iii) The following should also be enclosed with the form;
Copy of the Bank Challan,
DOB proof,
caste certificate,
NET-JRF certificate etc.

Guidelines for completing On-Line Application Form:
Step 1 : First of all visit university website www.dhsgsu.ac.in then click on “print bank challan” and get it filled required information as per instructions given on computer. Then, get a print of Bank Challan and go to any SBI branch and pay the fee in the State Bank of India “Power Jyoti Acconut” A/c No. 32000156472 (Subhead - F) .
Step 1 has following information):
• Course Applying for: Select M.Phil and Ph.D. (the relevant course applied for).
• Entrance Test Code: Now select the appropriate Subject in which you want to apply for. For example: Botany 405 or Hindi 422, etc.
• Social Category: Select the appropriate category i.e. Gen/OBC/SC/ST.
• Whether physically challanged – Select YES or NO
• Name of Applicant: Write your name in English capital letters in the given space. Give space between first name and middle name, and surname). Name should be the same as in High School Certificate.
• Father’s Name: Write your father’s name with proper space.
• Mother’s Name : Write your mother’s name.
Step 2
Again visit university website www.dhsgsu.ac.in and click on “admission form” then follow the instructions:
• Challan number: Fill up challan number which is printed in the first column of challan, for example it may be 00825 or 09834.
The pre filled up information will appear on the screen and then fill up the other required information.
• Date of Birth: Select the Date, Month and Year.
• Gender: Select Male / Female as applicable.
• Write Qualifying Examination University (M.A., M.Sc.,M.Com., etc.).
• Write the Year, Roll Number, Max. Marks, Obtained. Marks in Qualifying Exam.
• Write your full mailing address. • Write city/village PIN-CODE number correctly.
• Write your e-mail address in use.
• Write your personal mobile number, Landline telephone number with STD code.
• Fill up correctly the Journal Number and deposit date given by the bank in which
you have deposited the fee. (Journal Number will be given by the SBI on your fee challan, it may be of about 10 digits).
Wrong entry of the Journal Number will render the form cancelled.
• Upload your passport size colour photograph as per given instructions.
NOW YOUR APPLICATION IS READY TO BE SUBMITTED. YOU CAN NOW CLICK THE APPROPRIATE OPTION “APPLY FOR ENTRANCE” BOX..
After this take two print-outs of the filled application form and do as
directed.
• Paste your recent passport sized, colored photograph at the place provided for i.e. just below the scanned photograph. Keep at least six copies of the same photograph for final admission.
• The candidate should put his/her signature in the given box. Application without signature will not be considered. Now, send the application form to Chairman, Admission Cell, Dr. H. S. Gour University, Sagar 470 003 (M.P.) by speed/registered post only.
